After years working as a kitchen porter, I have decided that enough is enough, and I really need to start a new career. I am not getting any younger, and I did a lot of soul searching last night thinking about what I am going to do with my life. I knew I needed to get a proper career started, but I could never decide on what job to do. I couldn’t stand the thought of working in an office, so after doing lots of research, I have just enrolled in a driving instructor training course here in the UK. I love the idea of being my own boss, and spending the day in my car instead of stuck in an office all day.
The course itself is supposed to last for about a year, and in total it costs about four thousand pounds, but I don’t have to pay that until after I have qualified. The driving school I will work for just takes it out of my pay packet every month along with the driving school franchise fee. I am really excited at the moment, and my family are happy too as it seems I am finally going to do something positive with my life instead of working in dead end jobs and wasting time.
I am a little nervous though as I have not studied for a long time, so the prospect of having to hit the books again is a little daunting, but hopefully with all the money at stake, it will be enough motivation! I only decided to sign up after reading up on this website about how to become a driving instructor so it just goes to show how the internet can be useful and not just for gaming!
I really hope I pass, and can’t wait to start my new life as a driving instructor. I plan to work with a local driving school, so I will not be too far from home, and the local driving instructor said that I should not have a problem finding pupils around here as there is a lot of demand for driving instructors and not many schools to compete with. £30k per year here I come!
